Blog Awards

I woke up this morning to my very first Blog Awards. :) Thank you to Stacy at Love That Bug for giving me these. Please visit her blog for some great inspiration!

Now, I need to share these with 10 other people. I will be back later today to do that. :)

Penny Lane Card

Just a quick card for today. I wanted to practice the ruffling technique for borders. It didn't turn out perfectly, but good for a first try. I really think I need to use a thinner paper next time. I used the threading water punch by Fiskars and worked the paper to soften it up as much as possible. Paper is Penny Lane by My Mind's Eye and Stampin Up Pink Pirouette. Ribbon is Stampin Up Soft Suede and embellishment is by K&Company.

Shopping Haul

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking is the shopping for scrapping supplies! And I love looking at new products and what other people buy, so I thought I'd share what I picked up yesterday. :D

I just love pretty paper! I have serious issues with cutting it though, but I'm working on it. ;) October Afternoon Thrift Shop & My Mind's Eye Penny Lane.

I recently discovered October Afternoon and I am in LOVE! The papers are so pretty and I adore the retro feel to it. I have always loved Dick & Jane and classic children's books. They remind me of reading circle in Kindergarten and my Mama at the sewing machine making clothes for our family. I rarely pay full price for anything (and everything else I'm showing you was either on sale or clearance) but I did for this set! That's how much I love it.

Another company I've fallen for is My Mind's Eye. Their stacks are gorgeous and this one is no exception!

I already have this t-shirt, but when I saw them on clearance at Michael's for $2.95 I had to have another one. I'm pretty hard on t-shirts!

Various embellishments

My daughter and I collected American Girl dolls together and this sticker is of her mini me doll "Holly" so I had to have it. Can't wait to scrap a picture of her and Holly. Love that they added buttons to the dollar section at Michael's, and I love swirls so I had to have this EK success punch.

I think I was drooling when I saw these at Archiver's. They really fit the bill for my love of children's lit. There is one for October that I can't wait to use with a new Stampin Up set called Greeting Card Kids. They'll be perfect together!

Pretty letters and embellishements. I just realized that I forgot to take a pic of some Tim Holtz clear tags. You'll just have to envision those in your head.

Hope you enjoyed shopping with me! :)

Sherry

Artistic Etchings

I made this card to go with Krista's mini album. It doesn't really go with the theme, but I thought she would like it. Stamp set is brand new from Stampin' Up called Artistic Etchings. Paper is SU and My Mind's Eye Penny Lane.

Summer Album

I recently did a swap with an online friend with a Summertime theme. Here is the album I made for Krista. It uses a lot of Cricut: A Child's Year, Paper Dolls, Life's a Beach, Sweethearts. All the Paper is from My Mind's Eye.
My album had a little poem I made up to go along with the pages.
From the Park
To the Beach
Summertime is full of treats
But no matter how far you roam.
There's no place like home!

I had an idea for how I wanted the sun to look, but couldn't find a Cricut cut that fit, so I made my own pattern and cut it by hand.

From the Park. Krista has 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, so I though this cut from A Child's Year was perfect. If you look closely, you can see where my 2 yr old signed it. lol

To the Beach
I love this beach page. It's actually the first one I did because the idea started the book. Another cut from A Child's Year.

The surfboard tags and the little card are both from Life's a Beach. I used glimmer mist on the card. I used a pretty heavy hand with it to make it look "sandy" and sparkly. :)

Summertime is full of treats
I love the colors of these pages. The girl is cut from A Child's Year. The drink from Life's a Beach. I used glossy accents on the straw and fruit to give them a more realistic look.

I'm having a brain freeze(haha)on what cartridge I cut the ice cream cones from. Let me know if you recognize them before my brain thaws.

But no matter how far you roam....
The car is cut from Paper Dolls, and the girl on the scooter is from Sweethearts.

There's no place like home!
Fence is from Paper Dolls.

Back page for summer memories.

That's it. I hope you enjoyed the album. :) Thanks for stopping by.
